Strikingly review: fast websites with important growth limits
Strikingly is a hosted website builder designed to get a simple site online quickly. Its guided editor, responsive templates, built-in hosting, forms, store tools, memberships, bookings, and support make it approachable for first-time site owners.
The platform is strongest for personal sites, portfolios, event pages, service businesses, and small online stores. Its simplicity becomes a constraint when a project needs advanced design systems, complex content, large catalogs, extensive integrations, or complete control over code and hosting.
Strikingly pricing in 2026
Strikingly offers Free, Limited, Pro, and VIP plans. Official US pricing checked in September 2026 shows the following annual rates:
- Free: unlimited free sites on a Strikingly subdomain, with 500 MB storage and 5 GB monthly bandwidth per site. It is suitable for testing but does not support a custom domain.
- Limited: $8 per month billed annually. It includes two Limited sites, custom domains, SSL, 1 GB storage per site, 50 GB bandwidth, up to five pages per site, one store product, and a 5% Strikingly transaction fee.
- Pro: $16 per month billed annually or $20 month-to-month. It includes three Pro sites, 20 GB storage per site, unlimited bandwidth, up to 100 pages, up to 300 products, custom forms, memberships, password protection, custom code, custom fonts, site search, historical versions, and a 2% Strikingly transaction fee.
- VIP: $49 per month billed annually. It includes five VIP sites, 100 GB storage per site, up to 500 products, 2,000 active contacts, multiple membership tiers, multilingual tools, newsletters, priority support, and a 0% Strikingly platform transaction fee.
Longer two-, three-, and five-year commitments may reduce the monthly equivalent. Compare the full prepaid charge and renewal terms before committing. Strikingly’s support documentation says subscriptions are generally non-refundable after purchase.
Domains, email, and recurring costs
Annual and longer Limited, Pro, and VIP plans can include a domain for the first year. Domains otherwise start at $24.95 per year, and custom email is listed separately at $25 per year. Domain renewal is automatic and may occur before the expiration date.
Keep the domain registrant, billing contact, recovery address, and DNS access under the business owner’s control. Record the later cost of the plan, domain, email, audience add-ons, apps, and payment processing. A low headline price is not the complete operating cost.
Editor, templates, and mobile design
Strikingly uses a section-based visual editor. Users choose a template, add or rearrange sections, replace content, adjust styles, and publish without maintaining a server. Responsive templates make it possible to launch a clean basic site quickly.
The structured approach reduces design mistakes but offers less control than Webflow, Framer, or custom development. Test typography, spacing, navigation, forms, and calls to action on several screen sizes. Do not assume that a responsive template guarantees accessibility or good performance.
Use a logical heading hierarchy, descriptive links, image alternative text, sufficient contrast, visible keyboard focus, and appropriately sized tap targets. Avoid large background videos, unnecessary animations, and uncompressed images.
Pages, content, and blogging
The Limited plan’s five-page cap can become restrictive as soon as a business needs separate service pages, locations, policies, resources, and campaign landing pages. Pro’s 100-page limit is more practical but still requires content planning.
Strikingly supports blogs and common marketing pages, but it is not a full structured-content platform. Publishers with large archives, complex taxonomies, multiple editorial roles, or custom content relationships should compare WordPress, Webflow CMS, or another publishing-focused system.
Ecommerce and transaction fees
Strikingly’s Simple Store supports products, checkout, payments, order management, shipping, and related selling features. Limits vary sharply by plan: Limited supports one product, Pro up to 300, and VIP up to 500.
The platform fee is a major buying factor. Limited charges 5% and Pro 2%, while VIP lists a 0% Strikingly transaction fee. Payment processors can still charge their own fees. Model both charges against expected revenue before choosing a plan.
Test supported gateways, countries, currencies, taxes, shipping, variants, inventory, coupons, refunds, customer emails, digital delivery, subscriptions, and order export. For a large catalog, advanced fulfillment, international selling, or broad app integrations, Shopify or WooCommerce will usually be a better long-term fit.
Memberships, contacts, newsletters, and bookings
Pro and VIP include membership capabilities, and VIP adds multiple membership tiers. Paid subscription memberships can support gated communities and recurring content, but businesses should verify payment behavior, cancellation, access rules, failed payments, exports, and member communication before launch.
VIP includes 2,000 active contacts and newsletter tools. Larger audiences may require a paid Audience add-on. Confirm how Strikingly defines an active contact, the sending allowance, consent records, unsubscribe handling, domain authentication, and data export.
Bookings are available across plans, with official limits ranging from one event on Free to four on Limited, ten on Pro, and 100 on VIP. Test time zones, availability, capacity, reminders, rescheduling, cancellation, and calendar workflows for the exact service offered.
Forms, analytics, SEO, and integrations
Pro adds custom forms, custom code, site search, password protection, and other growth features. Strikingly also supports analytics and common integrations. These tools are adequate for many small-business funnels, but teams should test every handoff rather than assuming an integration is reliable.
For SEO, configure unique titles and descriptions, one clear H1, useful copy, readable URLs, internal links, image alt text, canonical handling, redirects, sitemap submission, and social-share previews. Search performance still depends on content quality, authority, technical health, and competition.
Submit every form from mobile and desktop, confirm notifications and CRM delivery, add spam protection, and document what happens if a connected account or API token expires.
Billing, cancellation, and ownership risks
Strikingly offers trials on paid plans, but support documentation states that charges occur automatically at the end of the trial and refunds are generally not provided. Record the trial end date, renewal term, and cancellation steps before entering payment details.
Hosted builders create platform dependence. Keep independent copies of copy, images, product data, orders, contacts, analytics settings, DNS records, redirects, and legal documents. Do not assume a Strikingly site can be exported and moved to another host with its design and hosted features intact.
Strikingly alternatives

- Squarespace: polished templates for portfolios, publications, and service businesses.

- Shopify: a better choice when ecommerce operations are the core requirement.
Who should choose Strikingly?
Strikingly is a sensible option for individuals and small teams that prioritize speed, guidance, and an all-in-one service. It works well for a portfolio, event, personal brand, basic business site, early membership concept, booking page, or small catalog.
It is less suitable for design-intensive brands, content-heavy publishers, large stores, complex applications, advanced localization, or agencies that require granular permissions and reusable systems across many clients.
Strikingly verdict
Strikingly succeeds at its core promise: helping non-technical users publish an attractive, functional site quickly. Free is useful for testing, Limited is constrained, and Pro is the practical starting point for most serious business sites.
Before buying, calculate the full prepaid cost, renewal, domain and email charges, transaction fees, product and page limits, contact allowances, and the cost of eventually moving elsewhere. Build a representative trial site and test the complete visitor journey—not only the homepage.
Pricing, plan limits, transaction fees, and booking allowances checked against Strikingly’s official pricing and help pages in September 2026. Verify the current checkout because plans and promotions can change.
