Affiliate Disclosure

Effective and last updated: June 14, 2026  |  SmartBizTools.io

Short version: Some links from SmartBizTools to software providers are affiliate links. If you follow an eligible link and complete a qualifying action, SmartBizTools may receive a commission or referral fee. This commercial relationship should not increase the price charged by SmartBizTools, but the provider controls its own prices, taxes, discounts, eligibility rules, and purchase terms.

Plain-Language Disclosure

SmartBizTools publishes AI-tool listings, reviews, comparisons, guides, and buyer resources. We fund this work through a mixture of affiliate commissions, advertising, and optional paid services for Tool Providers. These revenue sources help support hosting, research, editing, design, maintenance, and continued access to the Site.

A commercial relationship is information readers should know when evaluating a recommendation. This page explains the relationship in detail. We also aim to place shorter, prominent disclosures near content or links where the relationship is relevant, rather than relying on this page alone.

What an Affiliate Link Means

An affiliate link is a trackable link supplied by a merchant or affiliate network. If you click it, the provider or network may associate your visit with SmartBizTools. We may receive compensation if you later complete an eligible action, such as starting a trial, requesting a demonstration, creating an account, or making a purchase.

Compensation can be a fixed referral fee, a percentage of a purchase, a recurring commission, a lead fee, a credit, or another benefit. The amount and qualifying action vary by programme. A click alone does not always generate compensation.

Affiliate links may appear in tool cards, directory pages, product profiles, reviews, comparison tables, buying guides, recommended-tool sections, buttons such as "Visit tool," and other outbound calls to action. SmartBizTools currently supports Impact.com tracking links and may participate in direct vendor or other network programmes.

  • Not every external link is an affiliate link.
  • A product can be listed or reviewed without an affiliate relationship.
  • An affiliate relationship may begin or end after content is published.
  • The technical rel="sponsored" attribute may be used conservatively on commercial outbound buttons and is not, by itself, proof that a specific click earns a commission.

Tracking and Attribution

Affiliate networks and merchants may use cookies, redirect URLs, click identifiers, device or browser information, IP-derived data, and sub-identifiers to record a referral and determine whether a later action qualifies for commission. Attribution periods vary and may last from a single session to a longer period determined by the provider.

If another referral source receives credit, cookies are blocked or cleared, you use another device, or the action occurs outside the programme's attribution window, SmartBizTools may receive no commission. Details about Site-level tracking and your privacy choices are provided in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Price and Purchase Terms

Using an affiliate link normally does not add a separate SmartBizTools fee to your order. However, SmartBizTools does not control the provider's pricing system. Prices, currency conversion, taxes, renewal terms, regional availability, trial requirements, coupons, and discounts can change or differ between visitors.

Always verify the final price and terms on the provider's checkout page. A price shown in a SmartBizTools article may have changed. Any contract, subscription, refund, cancellation, support, or billing relationship is between you and the relevant provider unless SmartBizTools is explicitly identified as the seller.

Affiliate Links vs Sponsorships

Affiliate relationshipSmartBizTools may earn compensation after a tracked referral produces an eligible action.
Sponsored contentA vendor pays for a defined content or promotional service, which should be labelled as sponsored or paid.
Featured placementA vendor pays for time-limited visibility or priority placement, not for a higher editorial score.
Display advertisingAn advertising provider or advertiser pays for ad delivery, impressions, clicks, or related campaign activity.

These arrangements can overlap. For example, a sponsored review may also contain an affiliate link. Where more than one material relationship exists, we aim to disclose the relevant relationships clearly.

Paid Founder Services

SmartBizTools offers optional founder services described on the For AI Founders page, including Free Listing, Featured Launch, Growth Package, and Sponsored Review. Paid packages may include priority processing, featured visibility, promotional distribution, or production of a clearly disclosed review.

  • Payment does not buy a positive verdict, inflated score, Editor's Choice label, or guaranteed recommendation.
  • Sponsored reviews should identify the sponsorship and may still discuss limitations, poor fit, or reasons not to buy.
  • Featured placement concerns promotional visibility and should not be presented as an organic editorial ranking.
  • Free submission remains possible, subject to editorial eligibility and available capacity.

Display Advertising

SmartBizTools may display advertisements through Google AdSense or other advertising providers. Ads are commercially funded placements and are separate from our editorial reviews and scores. Advertising providers may select or measure ads using cookies or similar technologies, subject to consent requirements and their own policies.

The appearance of an advertisement does not mean SmartBizTools has tested, endorsed, or approved every advertised claim. Readers should evaluate an advertiser independently.

Editorial Independence

Affiliate eligibility and vendor payments must not determine an editorial score, comparison winner, criticism, or final recommendation. Our intended safeguards include:

  • Applying the same published evaluation criteria regardless of commercial relationship.
  • Keeping the right to decline coverage, remove a listing, or publish an unfavourable conclusion.
  • Not allowing vendors to purchase a particular rating or verdict.
  • Considering factual correction requests without surrendering editorial control.
  • Identifying paid or sponsored treatment in language readers can understand.

Read our Editorial Policy and Review Methodology for the standards used to research and assess tools.

Testing and Product Claims

An affiliate relationship does not prove that a product has been manually tested. Where hands-on testing is incomplete, SmartBizTools may rely on provider documentation, demonstrations, public product information, or other identified sources. Pages should distinguish editorial observations from provider-supplied claims and may state: "Editorial testing details are being prepared."

Software changes quickly. Features, prices, limits, ownership, integrations, and policies may change after publication. Verify important claims directly and report suspected errors through our Corrections Policy.

How We Display Disclosures

When a material commercial relationship is relevant, disclosures may appear at the beginning of an article, near a recommendation or call-to-action, within a comparison or tool card, in a sponsored label, or immediately before a group of affiliate links. Common language includes:

  • "This page contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you purchase through them."
  • "Sponsored review" or "Paid partnership."
  • "Featured placement" or another label explaining paid visibility.

A disclosure should be noticeable and understandable without requiring readers to infer its meaning from technical link attributes. Repeated links in one clearly disclosed section may be covered by a nearby section-level disclosure.

Community Reviews and Conflicts

Community reviewers must disclose material relationships with a reviewed tool, including employment, ownership, agency work, affiliate participation, gifts, free access, discounts, or other incentives. Undisclosed promotional reviews, review gating, coordinated ratings, and purchased testimonials may be labelled, excluded, or removed under our Terms.

Community opinions belong to their authors and are distinct from SmartBizTools editorial reviews.

How Products Are Selected

Commercial availability can influence which links are monetised, but it should not be the sole reason a product appears in editorial coverage. Selection may consider audience relevance, business use case, product availability, evidence quality, reader demand, editorial capacity, category coverage, and whether the tool offers a meaningful option or comparison point.

We cannot list or test every product. The absence of a tool is not necessarily a negative judgment, and the presence of an affiliate link is not a guarantee that the product is suitable for every reader.

Programme and Link Changes

Affiliate programmes can change, pause, reject transactions, alter commissions, or close without notice. SmartBizTools may add, replace, redirect, or remove affiliate links while preserving the editorial substance of a page. We may also continue linking to a useful product after a commercial relationship ends.

Your Choices

You are never required to use an affiliate link. You may navigate directly to the provider, decline optional cookies through available controls, clear browser cookies, or choose another product. Doing so may prevent SmartBizTools from receiving referral credit but should not affect access to our public editorial content.

Before purchasing, conduct your own due diligence and review the provider's current pricing, privacy, security, cancellation, and refund terms. See our broader Disclaimer.
