Full Review
Editorial verdict: Apollo is a broad sales-intelligence and engagement platform that combines prospect and account data, enrichment, scoring, research, sequencing, email tools, dialing, conversation insights, and CRM workflows. Its main advantage is consolidation: a sales team can move from targeting to outreach without stitching together as many separate vendors.
The platform’s real cost and risk sit below the headline seat price. Credits are consumed by emails, phone numbers, enrichment, AI research, and dialing; outreach volume affects deliverability and legal obligations; and data quality must be measured against the exact markets a team targets. Apollo is most valuable when a disciplined revenue operation turns verified data into relevant, lawful outreach—not when it simply increases message volume.
Best for
- B2B sales and revenue teams that need prospecting data plus multichannel engagement
- SDR and growth teams running repeatable account research, scoring, sequences, and call workflows
- Organizations seeking to consolidate data, enrichment, email sequencing, dialer, and basic conversation intelligence
- Teams prepared to monitor deliverability, consent and objection handling, suppression, data accuracy, and credit usage
What Apollo does well
Apollo connects contact and account discovery with AI research, lead scoring, sequences, writing assistance, mailbox tools, dialers, call recordings, and integrations. This can shorten the path from an ideal-customer profile to a prioritized list, researched account, personalized message, logged activity, and CRM update.
Paid tiers include unlimited sequences, while Professional and Organization add A/Z testing, unlimited Google and Microsoft mailboxes, richer lead scoring, pre-meeting insights, and call insights. This breadth is useful, but buyers should test each critical function rather than assuming the combined platform matches a specialist product in every area.
Current pricing and included credits
Apollo’s official pricing page showed the following annual-billing rates on September 1, 2026:
- Free — $0: 900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly; AI Assistant with a five-chat limit; AI Research; two sequences; basic filters; one mailbox per user; website-visitor identification for 20 companies monthly; and CRM enrichment capped at 100 per month.
- Basic — $49 per seat per month: 30,000 credits per seat per year, AI Assistant, AI Research and AI lead scoring, unlimited sequences, deliverability and warmup tools, one mailbox per user, visitor identification for 100 companies monthly, two lead scores, and a US dialer that consumes credits.
- Professional — $79 per seat per month: 48,000 annual credits per seat, unlimited sequences with A/Z testing, unlimited Google and Microsoft mailboxes plus five SMTP mailboxes per user, unlimited lead scores, pre-meeting and call insights, and 4,000 minutes of call recordings and AI insights.
- Organization — $119 per seat per month with a three-seat minimum: 72,000 annual credits per seat, up to 15 SMTP mailboxes per user, and 8,000 minutes of call recordings and AI insights, alongside the Professional outreach and scoring capabilities.
The pricing page was displaying annual billing. Treat the annual credit figures and their monthly release schedule separately from monthly seat charges; “30,000 credits” on Basic is not 30,000 credits every month.
How Apollo credits work
Apollo describes credits as the currency for retrieving and enriching prospect data and for selected engagement actions. Its current page lists:
- Verified email access: one credit
- Phone-number access: eight credits
- Data enrichment: up to nine credits per record
- AI Research or Power-up run: one credit
- US dialer: two credits per minute
Additional credits can be purchased. Apollo says add-on credits bought mid-cycle remain available only through the current billing period, even if the account downgrades before then. Build a unit-cost model using the team’s actual mix of emails, phones, enrichment, research, and calling rather than dividing the subscription only by seats.
Add-ons and volume limits
The page lists an Advanced Dialer add-on at $119 per team per month with international, parallel, and power dialing features. A website-visitor add-on is also shown at $119 per team per month, with company identification, domain tracking, form enrichment, and US contact identification; Apollo labels these as introductory prices that may change.
Email-campaign sending is included on all accounts, but non-paying plans can connect only Gmail accounts according to the FAQ. The comparison shows 250 daily email sends for the lower tiers. Mailbox count and platform limits do not replace provider policies or deliverability best practices.
Where it falls short
- Credit economics are complex. The same subscription can produce very different costs depending on data and dialing behavior.
- Data accuracy varies by segment and geography. Test valid emails, direct dials, job status, company matching, and coverage in your market.
- More sending capacity can increase risk. Poor targeting, weak authentication, aggressive volume, or bad list hygiene can damage domains and reputation.
- Organization has a three-seat minimum. The practical starting commitment is higher than the per-seat figure suggests.
- New and legacy credit systems differ. Existing customers should confirm which packaging and limits apply to their account.
A practical evaluation test
Select 100 accounts from a market your team already understands. Create a documented ICP, use Apollo to find relevant contacts, reveal a controlled sample of emails and phones, run AI research, score the list, and launch a small sequence from a properly configured sending domain. Have salespeople manually verify a subset before contact.
Measure valid-contact rate, job-title accuracy, bounce rate, connect rate, positive replies, meetings, credits per qualified meeting, research quality, personalization correction time, opt-outs, spam complaints, and CRM sync errors. Compare against your current data source using the same audience and offer. A larger database is not better if the reachable and relevant rate is lower.
Privacy, outreach, and AI governance
Sales intelligence and automated outreach can trigger privacy, electronic-marketing, telemarketing, recording, and employment-data obligations that vary by jurisdiction and channel. Establish a lawful-basis assessment, notice and objection handling, suppression lists, do-not-call controls, consent rules where required, retention, regional restrictions, and escalation procedures. Obtain qualified legal guidance for the markets you contact.
Restrict exports and bulk actions, separate research from approved outreach, and require human review of AI-generated claims and personalization. Do not let models infer sensitive traits or fabricate familiarity. For call recording and insights, provide required notices and obtain consent where applicable. Review Apollo’s current privacy, security, subprocessors, retention, AI, and contractual terms before connecting production CRM and mailbox data.
Alternatives to consider

- Cognism: compare for international coverage and compliance-oriented prospecting.
- Clay: compare for flexible enrichment orchestration and customized research workflows.
- HubSpot Sales Hub: compare when CRM-native execution and reporting matter more than a standalone prospect database.
- Salesloft or Outreach: compare for specialist sales-engagement workflows and enterprise coaching.
Final recommendation
Shortlist Apollo when consolidating data and engagement can reduce tool sprawl and when the team has enough process discipline to manage credit spend, deliverability, data quality, and compliance. Use Free for interface validation, but run a paid pilot with real unit economics before standardizing.
Basic fits early prospecting teams; Professional is the more realistic baseline for multichannel outreach, mailbox scale, testing, and call insights. Organization should be justified by team size and the higher conversation-intelligence allowance. The buying decision should be based on cost per qualified, compliant opportunity—not contacts exported or emails sent.
Research note: annual-billing seat prices, credit allowances and costs, mailbox and sequence features, call-minute limits, add-ons, and FAQ terms were checked on Apollo’s official pricing page on September 1, 2026. Introductory pricing and the new credit system can change; verify checkout and account-specific terms before purchase.
